An initial discussion is conducted to determine the overall vision for the website. Kegerreis will use this information to create a schedule for the project.
This stage will include the research of all necessary tools and software integrations to begin the development of a website that will integrate with, or funnel into, existing systems that include booking events, custom menus, dynamic form entries, up to date vendor content (selected menus/offerings), customer incentives (coupons, newsletter sign-up form), and individualized products or services.
Before the build-out of the new site, the general design and scope must be developed and approved. After evaluating the client’s general design and content preferences Kegerreis will provide 1-2 mockups of the homepage and general menu structure. Based on the level of detail received for the content revisions, Kegerreis will also provide a proposed menu and site structure. This process is crucial for determining the overall look and feel as well as the functionality of the new website and ensures that the core development begins with full approval and expectations.
The website will require high resolution images and written content about the region, including history, news, events, and other local services. The exact configuration will be determined at this stage based on the content received for the website and the goals.
The staging site will be set up with all necessary plugins or services after which, the build-out of the main pages will begin. This includes but is not limited to creating a menu structure, filling in provided content where applicable, embedding photos, setting up applications, creating forms, and gathering final content revisions. Progress updates or preview builds of the staging site will be provided to the client at various stages of the build-out.
The new website must undergo functionality and responsiveness testing for each feature and all screen sizes before the launch window. Any external software, analytics pixels, and revisions made throughout the development will be tested at this stage. Each page will be rigorously tested for bugs, screen scaling responsiveness, overall mobile experience, page load times, file optimizations, and other further refinements to ensure the integrity of the final build.
The initial site will go live upon the completion of this process. The new website will not go live until final approval has been agreed upon by the client. This is also the final step in the Kegerreis process and then the website moves to Maintenance and Support. Access to a client portal is provided to request changes and submit inquiries.
