Kegerreis’ Lackawanna market contains all of Lackawanna County. Lackawanna county is included in the Scranton–Wilkes-Barre–Hazleton Metropolitan Statistical Area. Lackawanna’s seat is the city of Scranton and was the last county created in Pennsylvania. In the mid-19th century, it was known for iron production and coal mining. In the late 19th century, the garment industry kept Lackawanna bustling. Now, warehouses, plastics manufacturing, and medical equipment manufacturing are among the top industries.
The main routes in Lackawanna are Interstates 81, 84, 380, and 476; US Routes 6 and 11. Interstates 81 and 476 come in from Luzerne county after circling the Wilkes-Barre Scranton International Airport. They cross each other and US 11 southwest of Scranton and intersect again north of Scranton. Interstate 81 flows north through Susquehanna County and into New York US 11 follows generally the same direction, but briefly merges with US 6 and provides access to Wyoming County. Interstate 380 enters Lackawanna from the south and meets Interstate 84 east of Scranton. Interstate 84 ends northeast of Scranton, where it meets Interstate 81 and US 6. US 6 forms a V in Lakawanna as it flows from the northeast corner to the northwest corner.
