Altoona is the tenth most populous city in Pennsylvania. Historically the sole economic driving the growth of Altoona into a City was the Pennsylvania Railroad. Now, the top field of employment in Altoona is healthcare followed by the retail and service industries. It’s location along I-99 draws a large trade area that extends to State College and Johnstown. Altoona is home to the Altoona Curve baseball team which attracts many! As does the Logan Valley Mall and the brand new shopping center, Convention Center Commons which houses Carmike Big D Movie Theater, Holiday Inn Express and other local stores and restaurants.
